I have an oval shaped face and I feel my hairstyle doesn't let my facial features glow in a way. Would medium length hair with layers look good or long straight hair with a fringe?

Whatever you do don't talk about a feathered look when you go to the salon. That is like the old lady style thing where they make your hair really really short on top and then come down in the back. No one under 60 wears it anymore.

As far as your face I'd say long hair would be best because your face is already longer. You could do the layer look or you could ask them to cut the hair the same length and then go back through with a razor blade to give the hair a little bit of texture at the end. My stylist does that with my layers and it gives it a much softer look.

To be honest, as long as she would consistently wash, condition and brush/comb it, I wouldn't give a crap about the rest.

I think that when she was taking care of her hair, it looks good in different textures (straight, wavy and curly), but I think I liked it wavy the best.

As for the color, I do sometimes think it's too much of a yellow blonde, so some sort of brown, like a chocolate shade would look nice.

You might want to try to get a condensed perm. It is a perm where you only use about 12 rods all over your head. It gives you that nice uneven natural curl. Unfortunately, if your hair is medium length, a spiral perm might not make much of a difference than a regular perm. The weight of your hair will pull down the curl and it will look like a regular perm. I have gotten both and didn't really notice a difference. But I did notice a difference with the condensed perm. All they have to do is put as much hair as they can on the largest perm rod that they can get. Then just use regular perm solution, and apply it like a regular perm. Good luck and hope this helps.

eww.. that hair looked caked in hair spray and stringy.... but if thats the look you want.... I would NOT get a perm... I would imagine scrunching your hair wioth some mousse and hair spray and blow dry while scrunching would work fine..and be less damage to your hair...

Yes, any beauty parlor can do that. there are some home operms like olglevie that works too. your hair isn't too short, but your hair wont look exactly like thise because hers is longer.

Even a "loose" spiral perm will still have too tight of a curl for that style. I know this b/c I've had one before. You might want to try curling it yourself, then picking the curls out with your fingers. Spray it with flexible hairspray, so it'll stay, but have movement. Or if you have a little natural curl, you can use gel and scrunch it while blow drying it. Good luck, whatever you decide to do! :)

How about you put it in a high ponytail and have your bangs to the side or high ponytail curlyed in the back.Another suggestion is tightly pulled back in a bun. Or parted down the center and a ponytail.

Why not try lo-lights? They look awesome with brown hair. Also, with hi-lights you'll want to make sure the color being used isn't an ash blonde, that could cause the coppery color for some people, also don't use anything that says 'golden' because that will make it coppery also. Tell your stylist(if you're using one) you do not want anything that will turn it coppery and ask for options. Platinum would be very, very light, almost a white color so beware of that!

I could name off a dozen or so products and they might or might not work. I would suggest you buy sample sizes, if you can find them, of some of the medium priced products and see what works best.

I also have medium length hair that frizzes easily, and I've used just about everything from the cheapest to the most expensive and none seem to work better than the other for long. I have to change products about every 4-6 weeks.

Aveda Hang Straight Straightening Lotion works amazingly.. even on my curly hair. Also, the type of straightener that you use effects the health of your hair. If you are using a very cheap straightener it could be damaging your hair and causing it to frizz even more and break.
